RVPartScan methodology
How RVPartScan Verifies RV Parts Inventory & Part Numbers
RVPartScan separates two questions that supplier catalogs often mix together: whether a part identity is supported by evidence, and whether a supplier observation is still recent enough to present as current inventory.
0–7 days
Recently verified supplier observation. Eligible to be presented as current inventory when the source status also supports it.
7–30 days
Still searchable, but demoted and labeled so the buyer knows to verify stock and price with the supplier.
More than 30 days
Not treated as normal live inventory. Older observations may remain as historical evidence when the part identity itself is still validated.
Part identity
A part number is not accepted just because text looks similar
RVPartScan uses supplier-source evidence and normalized identifiers. Manufacturer part numbers and OEM identifiers are stronger signals than a supplier-only SKU. We do not fuzzy-match characters such as O/0 or I/1, and we do not turn unrelated numbers found in a title into alternate part numbers without supporting evidence.
Canonical product identity
Brand and category claims require evidence
Stronger canonical product identities use agreement across independent supplier evidence. A code, model reference, brand, category, replacement claim, or cross-reference is not promoted simply because one seller included it in a product title.
Multi-supplier evidence
Hub pages use a higher evidence bar
Brand and category hub pages are built from exact identifiers supported by at least two independent supplier sources. This keeps thin or speculative clusters out of the main browse navigation and gives stronger part pages more internal links.
Fitment and equivalence
Unknown compatibility stays unknown
RVPartScan does not invent vehicle fitment, replacement compatibility, supersessions, or OEM equivalence when supplier evidence is incomplete. The original supplier title remains visible so buyers can inspect the source claim separately from RVPartScan’s canonical identity.
Prices and availability
Supplier observations are timestamped, not guaranteed
Prices and availability come from supplier observations and can change after a check. Older prices are labeled as last-seen evidence rather than current quotes. Buyers should confirm the final stock status and price at the supplier before purchasing.
Indexing policy
Inventory age does not erase a validated identity
A validated exact-part page can remain indexable after current inventory ages out because part identity and inventory freshness are measured separately. Invalid identifiers are not kept indexable simply to preserve page count.
